Melissa Sanders and Sheila Swanson made their final call from a pay phone in the dark, the sound of the Pacific Ocean churning in the background.

The two vanished as police closed in on a man suspected in another killing -- of a woman who had disappeared 14 years earlier on a backroad near Highway 20. #Coldcase investigators believe that Melissa and Sheila may have been his final victims.
