Video from 2018 shows an ice sheet rift in Antarctica's Pine Island Glacier "in a region that was previously stable," according to the European Space Agency.

According to NASA, "At the end of October 2018, the European Space Agency’s Sentinel-1 satellite observed the glacier letting go of a huge chunk of ice. The largest piece, named Iceberg B-46, spanned 226 square kilometers."
