🐱Our Media Manager– Ajay, recently participated in the youth pre-forum and second stakeholder meeting of the World Water Forum. The event was hosted and funded by Secrétariat international de l'eau - International Secretariat for Water and the 10th World Water Forum is organized by the World Water Council and the Government of Indonesia and will be held in Bali, from 18 to 24 May 2024. At the Stakeholder meeting the delegates delved into six crucial thematic themes. These themes covered everything from water security to sustainable finance and innovation. The discussions aimed to identify top-priority water issues that the 10th WWF participants and declarations will engage with.

The event, as Ajay describes was truly insightful in understanding freshwater perspectives and interconnecting links between land, ocean and climate change. During the Pre-Youth Forum the delegation had an opportunity for an "Intergenerational Dialogue" which was initiated by the Global Water Partnership. The delegates had candid conversations with private sector representatives, young innovators, and the organizing committee members. They talked about how young people could effectively advocate for water issues in the private sector. The conversation highlighted crucial gaps with the policy and declaration systems for effective management, conservation, restoration of water across the globe and how a smart approach can encourage larger privates and corporates become reliable force fo water related issues.

Besides everything else, the 40+ delegates at Pre-forum also collaborated on a painting that highlights true union of youth opinions and the meaning of artivism. As the Pre-Forum came to a close, each delegation left with a renewed determination to lead water discussions in their respective regions. The commitment was evident, reflecting a shared vision to take action and foster more discussion spaces in the water sector within their homelands.

Ajay's involvement in this forum underscored the power of youth engagement in shaping the future of global water resources, promising a more sustainable water future
