Alec Rainsby became an NYRR member as part of a New Year’s resolution to complete the #TCSNYCMarathon after being inspired while spectating at the marathon with his wife, Elizabeth.🎉
 
“I run because it brings a sense of accomplishment, the thrill of a runner’s high, and the joy of sharing this experience with my family,” he said. “Setting and achieving personal records and being part of the supportive running community embraces my love for the sport.”
 
He is also a member of the newyorkharriers run club, which has provided him with community and training support that have helped him complete not only 17 New York City Marathons but 23 marathons in total. 🤯
 
“My journey to becoming a streaker was driving by personal challenges and the allure of guaranteed marathon entry.”
 
A particularly memorable moment for Alec was in 1999 when he ran the Run for the Parks 4-mile race, and his wife went into labor with their son, Graham, that same day. Years later, father and son ran the race together on Graham’s 9th birthday. 🥹💙
 
“These experiences underscore the importance of family and community support in my running journey,” Alec said.
