Senior nursing major Hannah Balch from Wichita, Kansas gained valuable professional experience this summer during her student nursing externship through the University of Missouri Women and Children’s Hospital. She worked in the pediatric ICU where she shadowed a nurse, learned about specific hospital policies and procedures, and built confidence in her knowledge and skills. For Hannah, this role solidified that she wants to work in the pediatric ICU after graduating.
