Sandra Adams, a senior international relations major who is originally from Baghdad, spent a semester at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, thanks to a Jewell-funded Journey Grant. The immersion experience helped improve her Korean language skills and allowed her to take cultural excursions. Sandra also spent the summer of 2015 in South Korea after receiving a fully funded competitive Critical Language Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State, and returned last summer to intern with the Department of State’s National Security Language Initiative for Youth through a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. #JewellDoesJourneyGrants
