And the pick goes to... ☝️
•
The Indiana Fever won the WNBA Draft lottery, earning themselves the No. 1 pick. ‼️
•
This marks the second straight season the Fever will have the top overall pick and the third straight top-two selection. 👀
•
The top four picks are completed by the Los Angeles Sparks (No. 2), the Phoenix Mercury (No. 3), and the Seattle Storm (No. 4). 👏
•
Indiana entered the evening with the best odds to secure the top pick (44%) after registering an 18–58 record over the past two seasons, missing the playoffs for the seventh consecutive season. 🙃
•
In the previous season, Indiana selected Aliyah Boston out of South Carolina at No. 1 overall. Boston went on to win Rookie of the Year. 🏅
•
Indiana could potentially land an even bigger star in 2024, with the assumption that Iowa guard Caitlin Clark enters the draft. Despite being in her fourth year at Iowa, Clark has the option to return to school, thanks to an extra year of eligibility granted by the COVID-19 waiver. 🏀
