Love or Hate Hop-On-Hop-Off Busses? We rated 10 cities ⤵️

Have you ever taken a #hoponhopoff bus? They can be a great way to experience key sites easily, especially if you’re short on time. BUT, a bad one can be a waste of money. 

Our 10 BEST to WORST ⬇️

1️⃣ San Francisco 🇺🇸- riding over the Golden Gate Bridge in a 2-story open air bus is a core memory. Ange even grew up near the City by the Bay and this tour still introduced spots we’d never been. And if you have been — you know that parking in the City is the WORST.

2️⃣ Mexico City, 🇲🇽- it’s hard not to place this on top, especially since it’s a FRACTION of the cost of San Francisco’s. The challenge is that CDMX is SO massive, you have to select between different routes. 

3️⃣ Kuala Lumpur, 🇲🇾- 27 stops & 60 attractions 😮. We spent 5 days in KL, and there’s so much we want to return for! 

4️⃣ Philadelphia 🇺🇸 - just WOW. So many stops — Ange looped twice! And you can make a cheesesteaks tour along the way.

5️⃣ Quito 🇪🇨 - We just experienced and highly recommend! It’s one of the few to host LIVE guides—all bilingual and SUPER informative 👏. In addition to being inexpensive ($15), this tour ranks high bc it allows you to safely see the city. Not gonna lie — we are loving Ecuador, but you really have to be watchful of pick pocketers in Quito. 

6️⃣ London 🇬🇧- probably ranks higher, but we visited on St. Patty’s Day and let’s be honest, don’t remember a ton 😜🍺

7️⃣ Amsterdam 🇳🇱 - a Hop on Hop off boat! Pretty cool…

8️⃣ Edinburgh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 — not bad necessarily, but the City is SO lovely and walkable, we didn’t think the bus was necessary. Great for those who are less mobile!

9️⃣ Dublin 🇮🇪 - Eehhh, we didn’t think it was worth it. 

🔟 Tokyo 🇯🇵 - expensive, uninformative — and let’s be honest, the subways are SO clean, and just an awesome experience in themselves! But we LOVE Tokyo 🫶.
