An electrical fireball zipped across a power line during flooding in St. Petersburg, Florida, this weekend. 😲⚡⁣

According to electrical linemen, this is an electrical arc fault. Typically, a fuse/relay/breaker would stop this from happening, but that equipment was likely damaged by falling trees or flooding.⁣
⁣
This phenomenon was also documented during an ice storm in Louisiana in 2021, and after a windstorm in Montreal, Canada in 2013.⁣
