Pov: You stopped posting for VIEWS ❌ TRY POSTING WITH PURPOSE.

I regret all the time I spent stressing over views. In reality, nun of that nonsense mattered. 🫤

I am an Advertising Major at the University of Georgia and these classes I took this past semester put me on GAMEEEEEEE👀 When I first started creating content, I was too focused on getting VIEWS and following viral trends. All of these videos are still posted on my page and have some, but not much engagement. 

So my secret sauce? 🤫 I’ll spill. START POSTING WITH PURPOSE. 

My purpose is to provide valuable insight on my life as a 21 year old photographer and showcase my photo work. So I tell myself these 3 things when posting:

1️⃣ Make sure you are providing VALUE to your viewers. This turns viewers into friends, not just followers.
2️⃣ Be authentic, your viewers are humans (not robots). 
3️⃣ Create conversation with your posts, as if your post is brain food. 

When I started doing these 3 things, the views + engagement came ORGANICALLY to ME. Which is super amazing and I am SO THANKFUL for the support 🫶🏽🥹 Like fr..I love the sense of community there is in my comment section. I just don’t monitor the “numbers” the way I used to. Because honestly, I just don’t care. 

I’d rather be valuable and inspire 1 follower, than have 1.5 million views on a single post that provides ZERO benefit to my viewers. 

Photographers, do numbers matter? Does posting your content and receiving low engagement matter to you even if you are making sales? 💭 Comment your thoughts.
