Welcome 2024 #OpticaAmbassador Ana Karen Reyes!

Karen Reyes is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Technological University of Tulancingo.

During her first year as an #OpticaAmbassador, she hopes to make a difference in the lives of Latina women in optics and photonics by organizing workshops and events, advocating for policies that support women in STEM and more. 

Her efforts around inclusion also focused on creating safe spaces for members of the LGBTQI+ community and people with disabilities to engage with STEM. 

She has created workshops on optics for people with visual disabilities, engaging more than 250 people interested in inclusive design. 

During her free time, she loves to sing and play the guitar.
