This week we welcomed the #unstoppable @elaineparker_2022, CEO and Founder of @saferdateltd, to Women in Tech North East's March Meetup at @the_catalystuk

We promised a morning of conversation, coffee, and cake... and a GREAT BIG slice of inspiration. 

And - wow! - what a morning.

Elaine spoke about her career journey, progressing upwards through business and IT, and setting up her own business after being made redundant following illness. 

Talk about lemons 🍋 and lemonade 🥛!

Elaine then spoke openly and honestly about the experiences that led her to do something incredible...

After meeting a man on a popular #OnlineDating app, Elaine was subjected to horrific abuse, violence, and stalking. 

The man she met had a record of domestic violence, but he was free to access and use dating apps.

How?

Because the multi-billion-dollar #dating industry is entirely unregulated. 

And this is putting people in danger, often without their knowledge, leaving them open to abuse, stalking, violence, fraud, and even murder.

Elaine made it her life's mission to do something about this, and prevent people from suffering similar experiences to hers. 

And so #SaferDate was born.

The safest dating app in the world.

Elaine is an inspiration, a force, and a trail blazer. A shining example of someone who uses their experiences to help others, through the application of technology for good.
