Hi! Happy Holidays Guys! I’m so excited to share that past weekend we hosted our 2023 holiday party in New York City, bringing together my entire US-based team for the first time since the pandemic for a day filled with connection, compassion, and deep work. We kicked off the day with a step-in exercise, a non-verbal self-reflection icebreaker with the goal of creating more shared connection through vulnerability, connectivity tied to emotions like worry, loss, or joy! After the icebreaker, we met with someone we had previously not worked with or spoken to
exchanged curious questions based on what we learned.

The essence of human connection lies in the question - do you feel what I feel? Once we had created a safe space,  we delved into shared work, beginning by identifying above-the-line and below-the-line traits as a reminder to check in with ourselves and maintain an open mind.

The real magic unfolded when we gained perspectives from different departments working on challenges outside their usual scope. Here, we teamed up in smaller groups to unpack issues, resulting in amazing insights. I gained so much from the superpowers list, our shared values, and discussions on what we should continue doing and evangelizing. Numerous breakthroughs, new connections, and problem-solving moments occurred. While we’re all a work in progress, we tackle problems more efficiently by staying above the line and committing to active listening. I’m genuinely grateful for each and every team member here at KKH—truly the best holiday gift.
