My name is Maria Nairn. I will be graduating in 2025 with a degree in journalism and, hopefully, a minor in Spanish! 

A piece of advice I would give future/current students at Gaylord is to get involved! Quite literally, take any opportunity you get your freshman year. I wish I had taken more opportunities within Gaylord in the last year; that's actually a goal of mine for my sophomore year. For prospective students, I'd recommend taking a tour! I cannot express to you how important it was for me to actually go and see all the resources inside of Gaylord for myself. In my free time, I am a freelance photographer, and I have my own business!

From the get-go, Dean Kelley made it clear that I was wanted at Gaylord. He reached out to me through email consistently, invited me to join the Dean's Leadership Class and scheduled an in-person meeting with me and my mom before I even chose OU. His dedication to my education and the betterment of my future really spoke volumes about his personal stake in the college and my success. Dean Kelley absolutely influenced my decision, and I could not be more grateful.
