We’re back! Tune in to our first #HU2U episode of 2024 as Jose Cadiz, our director of development in institutional giving, joins host Frank Tramble to explore what we can do as a campus community to support those who identify as black and queer.

In America, 1.2 million adults identify as Black and LGBTQ+, but for many within that intersectional identity, the layered discrimination of race and sexuality takes its toll.

Here at Howard University, efforts to support LGBTQ+ students have resulted in the formation of the Intercultural Affairs and LGBTQ+ Resource Center. In 2022, according to BestCollege.com and the Campus Pride Index Tool, Howard was named the no. 1 most inclusive HBCU for LGBTQ-identifying students.

Take a listen into the crucial role of resources for LGBTQ+ students and staff, the importance of understanding and using correct and preferred pronouns, and how to prepare our students to carry these values into the world and workforce.
