In a marquee pitching matchup of Sale vs @therealhuntergreene, the @redsox got the 8-2 victory despite Greene’s impressive start where he was regularly hitting 99-100mph. The matchup lived up to the billing in the early innings with both pitchers racking up Ks. Sadly, Sale’s start was cut short due “left shoulder soreness”. 🙏it isn’t anything serious. 

After sales departure, in an emergency relief situation, Garza stepped up in a big way going 1.1 shutout innings with a K. Pivetta, Winckowski, and Jansen also put up zeros out of the pen. @npivetta43 was fired up coming off the mound after striking out the side in the 7th. 

@dugie11 showed off his cannon in right by gunning down Steer in the close play at the plate. 

The final score might appear like it was a lopsided game, but the game was tied until Sox put up 6 runs in the 8th inning. 

Verdugo led off the decisive 8th inning with a walk and then @rafael.devers smoked a double off the center field wall, scoring Dugie. 

@kikehndez was the offensive ⭐️going 2-4 with a go ahead HR in the 7th and then a clutch RBI single in the 8th after a bases loaded balk. 

@connorwong10 then launched a two-run HR to make it 8-2. 

The weather was amazing as we embark on the summer months. 

Big 4 game series at Fenway as the Rays come to town. The series kicks off with another great pitching matchup of Whitlock vs Glasnow. Both starters are coming off injuries and are looking to slow down these powerful offenses.
