I came to Hope a year ago and quickly found a home. I had recently committed my life to Jesus Christ, and I was looking for answers. A lot of them. I sent in a prayer request to Hope through the website about a month before Alpha started in January 2023. Pastor Ben called me to talk about my request, and he suggested taking Alpha. He sent me a follow up email with the course link, as well as some reading material (The Story by Max Lucado) for someone who was new to christianity.

Eventually, I reluctantly signed up for Alpha the week the course started. I wasn’t comfortable with sharing my story because I felt so out of place being so “young” in my faith walk but so “old” in my life as well. The group I ended up being placed with was and has been so instrumental for my growth during my faith journey. I ended up meeting some really good friends as well as my best friend; all of which I have been able to lean on during tough times within the last year.

I came to Alpha looking for answers about God, but God provided more than that. He brought me to Alpha to give me answers about myself and to find a community as well. Once the course was over, I realized I had found a home within the Hope and Alpha family.

Come to Alpha for what you believe you need. God will provide what you’re looking for, but then he’s going to reveal what you’re missing and provide that as well.
