🏴‍☠️Giving Back

Local legends Anthony and Nick Markanich dropped by Steel City's winter workout.

Anthony started as an outside back on St. Louis City, MLS's Western Conference Champion, while Nick bagged 13 goals for Charleston Battery in the USL Championship

Both starred at local Bradley-Bourbonnais, leading the high school to its first state appearance. They also lead Northern Illinois University to a MAC title before being drafted in MLS.

The boys continue a "punch above its weight" list of local area 1st division professionals.

Brad Guzan (@bguzan )among the country's most decorated players, graduated from Providence Catholic High School (@pcceltics). Ned Grabavoy, winner of multiple MLS Cups and a national title at Indiana University graduated from Lincoln Way Central High School (@lwcboyssoccer). Ian McGrath (@imcgrath9 ), brother of Steel City legend Nolan McGrath, played for Nashville, OKC Energy and Queen of the South in the Scottish Championship. Ian graduated from Lincoln-Way West.

We thank Nick and Anthony for giving love to our local area semi-professional standouts.
