✨ When I was little, my dad used to do “Take Your Daughter To Work Day”. I loved it. I didn’t really know what he did, but I did know it meant I got to spend the whole day in my dad’s office at the ballpark - watching him work, coloring, pretending to take notes of his phone calls and meetings, and just enjoying being there. It was special to me to get to see what dad does all day. Especially at the ballpark, one of my favorite places. 

Yesterday, some 20-ish years later, I got to flip the script and take HIM to work at MY stadium. Showing my dad around K-State and getting to show him how things operate here was so special. 

It was special not just because of the connection and sentimental reasons, but because my dad is so fiercely supportive of me and other women in sports. He was one of my biggest supporters of this project, and jumped at the chance to tell his professional female friends and coworkers about it. My dad is so excited about the direction sports are heading at all levels. 

So here’s to all the dads, brothers, partners, friends, family, and professionals out there who lift women up and support women’s sports. I hope there’s still organizations out there who do Take Your Daughter To Work Day. It makes a difference. And if it turns out my dad made that whole thing up… there’s your excuse to start doing it. 😄✨
