She’s a former BBC and NBC TV presenter. 18 months ago I was flicking through The Telegraph and noticed the article in slide 2. “Oooh I remember Vanessa!” I thought to myself. “She was in the year above me at school.” I reached out to her and invited her to guest teach inside The Parlour. Then 3 weeks ago I invited Vanessa to a Thank you lunch I hosted for all my guest speakers in The Parlour. Vanessa met iamsuzywalker shared her story with her and Boom! She was featured in the media article in slide 3 on Sunday! So to recap: 1. Vanessa pitched her story to The Telegraph 2. She gets featured 3. I read the article in The Telegraph 4. I give her 2 paid guest teaching gigs in The Parlour 5. Vanessa gets invited to my Thank You lunch 6. She shares her story with a journalist at the table 7. Vanessa gets featured again in the media. That’s the snowball effect! Opportunities just accumulate as you roll down the media mountain! So when someone tells you that media doesn’t give you an ROI…absolute rubbish! I’d diagnose that they’re not pitching the right stories regularly to the right journalists in the right publications. Send them my way!
