How do you honor Portland’s most famous drag queen? With a stage and an outdoor chandelier.

The newly-released preliminary design for Darcelle XV Plaza also includes a performance space with shade sail canopies, a small off-leash dog park and a “walk of fame” to honor LGBTQ heroes.

“It’s a place for everyone,” said Steve Lien, who owns a store across the street from the plaza and heads Travel Gay Portland. “It’s a plaza that our small nonprofits, our community groups, our sports teams, our clubs and organizations all can use.”
