Australian golfer Jason Day announced that he is now ambassador for streetwear brand Malbon Golf, effectively ending his $100 million partnership with Nike.⁠

jasondayofficial, 36, broke the news on X on Jan. 2, saying he was excited to join MalbonGolf as its new and first PGA Tour ambassador. He first showcased the partnership at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui, Hawaii, on Jan. 4.⁠

The move came after the former world No. 1 golfer ended his deal with Nike, which he signed in 2016 and carried a $10 million per year pay. The last time Day was spotted donning Nike was during his team match with Lydia Ko at the Grant Thornton Invitational in December.⁠

Speaking to Hypebeast, Day explained that Malbon Golf caught his attention after its popularity grew over the past year.⁠
“Being able to now align myself with Malbon feels like a natural and exciting step forward in embracing a brand that resonates with a diverse and fashion-forward audience,” he said.⁠

Founded by Los Angeles couple and golf enthusiasts Stephen and Filipino American Erica Malbon, Malbon Golf opened its first store in the Fairfax neighborhood in 2017. The company describes itself as a “lifestyle brand inspired by the game of golf.”⁠
