You guys apparently it’s national cesarean section day and I can’t let it go without saying a few things!!

1. TRIGGER WARNING: the second photo is a photo of my incision the day the kids were born. Don’t swipe if you don’t want to see it 🙃 (The last pic was taken today)

2. If you’re someone who has needed or will need a C-section to deliver your sweet babe(s)- I know it’s not ideal but it will be okay!! Personally, I didn’t want my one and only birth experience to be carried out on an operating table. However, my babies and I are alive and healthy and truly nothing else matters. 🤍

2. You can still personalize your birth experience if a C-section is required. You can choose the person that will be with you during the delivery, sometimes they’ll give you the option of a clear drape in case you want to watch the operation being performed, and they also allowed us to record video and play music during the operation! (Obviously every hospital is different so check with yours before you deliver)

3. When I was pregnant I did some research and found that a C-section scar can become a place of stored trauma. There’s even some research that say surgical scar pain can even be related to unreleased emotions! So while the kids were growing and healing in the NICU I was starting my healing journey too.

4. Here’s what has helped me promote healing after a C-section!

- Simply, looking at the incision as soon as possible after delivery
- Lightly touching my scar which then later turned into scar tissue massages with biooilusa
- Idk if this is normal but I prepared by watching C-section videos on YouTube (I think this just helped me visualize what it would be/look like)
- Daily pelvic floor exercises
- Taking scar progress pictures
- Watching the video of my delivery- the first couple of times were difficult but now I truly enjoy watching it 😊

I know everyone’s experience is different but I just wanted to celebrate all my C-Section mamas today! Ily 🫶🏽 🤍
