Holy Water, more like HOLY SMOKES. TWO MILLION STREAMS on spotify. This lil riff changed everything for our band. It’s had quite the journey, from being buried in my demos, to morgan_lebus calling me and telling me it was the one to finish up (shoutout the legends, Morgs!) to eventually finding its way to an Apple commercial, the Olympics, the NFL and beyond. 

A few funny memories from the creation of this song:

- I remember finishing it up on a hot Kansas summer day just slamming copious amounts of watermelon with edothillman. Watermelon + KS Summer = Classic.

- I recorded the vocals in my loft in KC, and was just yelling “Holy Water” over and over again. Surely the neighbors were a bit concerned about me from then on out. 

- The tom samples are all from GarageBand 

- I went to a Louis CK show after I wrote it. The times have changed, but the song remains the same!!
