Iranian journalists Niloofar Hamedi and Elaheh Mohammadi were released on bail on Sunday after nearly 500 days in prison for reporting on the killing of Mahsa Jina Amini in police custody. 

They are now facing new charges only 24 hours after their release for violating the regime’s mandatory hijab laws after footage was published of them celebrating their release without covering their hair.

📌 Hamedi and Mohammadi have not only been silenced and persecuted for being journalists but also for being women under the gender apartheid regime in Iran.
