2024 DIVISION I JAZZ RUNNER-UP: “HOPE”🥈

Each team that attends nationals gets two minutes on the floor to showcase their very best and tell any story they choose to tell. This year, we told the story of us. This was the 30th year Hofstra University has competed in the UDA Division I Jazz category which led us to dedicating this piece to that. We told the story of what success means to us, this program, this legacy. From the beginning when first hearing our music, we knew it was different and would be challenging, yet we didn’t let that effect us. 

We took ourselves to new heights physically, mentally and most of all, emotionally. This piece evolved into something so special. It is more than just a “nationals routine” to us; the lyrics of the song, the choreography, the reasoning behind every movement, the calm that turned into attack, the fight, the WHY behind it…it is US. 

🙏🏼 To our choreographer and alumni, Zach Galasso…thank you. This truly was the best Hofstra Jazz to take the floor! Without you, this would not have been possible. Your commitment behind the scenes to make sure every second of this routine make sense and “click” to the outside eye was so inspiring. You challenged not only us, but yourself included. We took a risk, and it paid off. 

This routine will be one we look back on for a lifetime and will lay in the HUDT history books as epic. Scores and medals aside, we put on a show and made the audience feel something this weekend. We grew as both a team and program and took that stage as a united force. THAT is a win in itself. THAT is our definition of success. 💫
