WHO IS THIS? ⛵️ 

So often, we look at the story of the frantic disciples and a sleeping Jesus and are quickly enamored by the miracle of a suddenly calm sea.

But what would happen if we looked a little deeper? 🌊 Have you ever asked yourself, "What would have happened if the disciples mimicked Jesus?" If all of a sudden, the disciples saw their master napping in the hull and thought to themselves, "If that's what Christ does in a storm, I should do it too," what would have happened?

This concept has rocked our team, and we had the realization that the miracle at the end of the story wasn't only a display of Christ's power but also a highlight of the disciple's disobedience.

Jesus, the prince of peace, asleep in a deluge as his friends manically run around on the deck.

In our lives, I think we, more often than not, are the ones manic on the deck when we are called to be imitators and ambassadors of Christ.

Sadly, this story is the revelation that the wind and the waves are far more obedient to the prince of peace than we are.

So let's learn:
Heavenly Father, we submit to your overwhelming peace in our lives. May we be as obedient, if not more, than the wind and the waves themselves. We glorify you, and ask that you make us perfect images of you, that the world may see and know you through us. We praise you Abba father, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and in Christ's name.
Amen.
