The record number of sign-ups comes after President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act made premiums more affordable.

As a result of the law, enrollees will pay no more than 8.5% of their income on premiums for benchmark Silver plans, with many qualifying for near-free coverage.

“Millions of Americans are saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year on health insurance premiums, and most people who shop for coverage at HealthCare.gov can find a plan for $10 a month or less,” Biden said in a statement last week.
