## Caption

Following a punishing winter storm that tore through the Portland-metro area and Columbia River Gorge, the historic Vista House was coated in a thick layer of ice atop Crown Point.

Al Russell, who lives in nearby Cascade Locks, captured photos of the Vista House on Sunday afternoon as he and a friend helped deliver food to his girlfriend’s father, who lives in the area and was trapped at home by the ice.

In the video, see the drastic contrast between the Vista House as it normally appears and how the landmark looked encased in ice.
