School speed zones are reduced-speed areas that operate near schools from 8–9:30am and 2:30-4pm.⁣

They’re designed to keep kids safe by lowering the speed limit at peak times when children are travelling to and from school.⁣
⁣
To help keep everyone safe, it’s important for drivers to:⁣
🛑 watch out for pedestrians and be aware that young children can be unpredictable and difficult to see⁣
🛑 give cyclists plenty of space⁣
🛑 slow down in school speed zones during school times⁣
🛑 be extra cautious around schools⁣
