Our 20-hour module, "Anatomy for Yoga Teachers and Practitioners" (part of the 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training certification) wraps up this evening. Program Director Niisa Morton is spending the weekend with our yoga teachers discussing the skeletal structure of the human form, and practically, how the body works as a system, the autonomic and central nervous systems, and how yoga affects us from an anatomical standpoint.

The understanding gained from this program helps us, as yoga teachers, speak proficiently to the physical components of the practice as reflected in our bodies, teach our students specific terminology to explain and understand their bodies, recognize the effects of yoga on the human form, and structure our classes with specific goals pertaining to the anatomy (greater flexibility or strength, etc.) and/or nervous systems (energizing or calming, etc,).

Our second of three anatomy-related programs, "Musculoskeletal Assessment for Yoga Teachers" will be offered in March (in-person at victorypoweryoga and simultaneously online), and in-person at croftonyoga in June. These programs may be taken in either order (Anatomy first and then Musculoskeletal or vice versa).

We invite yoga teachers from all traditions to join us for these programs, and to increase and enhance your knowledge of the human body, how it affects one's yoga practice, and yoga's effects on each of our structures and nervous systems.

Both "Anatomy for Yoga Teachers and Practitioners" and "Musculoskeletal Assessment for Yoga Teachers" are requirements for Pranakriya's 300-hour advanced yoga teacher certification program. They are each 20-hour modules, and each earns the student 20 YA CEUs.

Early bird savings for the upcoming Musculoskeletal Assessment program in March ends February 2.
