#RaiseTheAge helps ensure 17-year-olds accused of crimes are placed in juvenile facilities, where they can receive age-appropriate rehabilitative services like educational programs, trade and vocational training, mentorship, etc., compared to adult facilities, which increases the risks of both physical & sexual abuse and recidivism.⁠

It does NOT affect prosecutors' ability to try children as adults for certain serious offenses. ⁠
