## Caption

Mature and old-growth forests are a vital part of a healthy planet. They fight climate change by storing massive amounts of carbon; give a home to imperiled species like #spottedowls, #wolverines and bats; help support healthy watersheds; and withstand wildfire better than young forests. 

But sadly, most old-growth forests have been logged. 

The Forest Service began a process that could restrict logging of old-growth trees in all 128 national forests. It's a start — but it leaves big loopholes. 

We must save what's left. Mature trees if left to grow, will become the old growth of tomorrow.  Take action at the link in our bio. ✨ 🌳
