With an English major, concentration in Writing, and double minors in Creative Writing and Music, Morgan Chambers ‘25 is booked and busy this semester. Chambers loves the Music programs here at Marist, and spoke about what she loves about being a music minor.

“I love it so much! Something that I’ve heard a lot from students and faculty in the department is that it is treated like a conservatory without having that music major. So I get to spend so much time on something that I love while also having time for my academics and stuff.”

Even though some students have requested a major in Music to be created at Marist, Chambers is happy with the minor: “One of the main reasons I chose Marist was because I wanted to have that aspect of doing music without really committing to the major, and I think that’s something that Marist does really, really well.”

The sophomore is also the Secretary of the Singers Board in the Music Department, where she takes attendance of the choir, sends out emails, organizes events, and does a lot of other housekeeping work with the rest of the Board. She stated, “It’s a lot of fun because I love having a leadership role in a department that I’m super proud of being in and that I love so much. It’s really exciting getting to interact with everyone because as Secretary I get to learn everyone’s names and stuff like that. Everyone should come see Night on Broadway!”
