When is the best time for a kitchen renovation? 📆 The answer is: it depends! We welcome projects all-year around, but it’s essential to consider your specific circumstances and other factors. Here are some general guidelines we find helpful for most of our clients:

▪️Timeline expectations: An average kitchen reno timeline ranges from 3 to 6 months from demo day. It depends on factors like: scope, level of construction changes needed, material availability, as well as cabinetry lead times. We can’t forget that the process of reviewing shop drawings and making design decisions takes time too.

▪️Budget considerations: If you have a budget in mind, you may want to plan your remodel during a time when materials and labor costs are more favorable. Prices can fluctuate, so keeping an eye on the market can help.

▪️Personal schedule: Consider your own schedule and lifestyle. It might be more convenient to tackle a kitchen remodel during a period when you can easily adapt to temporary disruptions in your home. We always encourage our clients to either move out for their renovation or move to a separate floor of their home to ensure privacy and less disturbance. In such cases we help you set up a temporary kitchen as well.

▪️Permitting and approvals: Check local regulations and permitting requirements. Factor in the time it takes to obtain necessary approvals before starting the project. It’s always going to take longer when you’re working with historic or older homes, so keep that in mind!
