According to a national survey, among students who use vapes, the most common reasons were:

Because a friend or family member used them.
The availability of flavors, such as mint, candy, fruit or chocolate.
The belief that vapes are less harmful than other forms of tobacco.
Vapes were easier to get than other tobacco products.
Vapes  are easily hidden and can be used where other tobacco products are not allowed.
