Today marks the beginning of #BlackHistoryMonth, and all month long we will be revisiting incredible performances, sharing educational listening guides and playlists, and more. Starting with the Hollywood Bowl’s 50th season kickoff, we remember the U.S. operatic debut of soprano #JessyeNorman. After her Bowl performance of Verdi's "Aida" in July 1972, she would go on to win countless awards, including multiple Grammys and a Kennedy Center Honor.
