## Caption

The 'Ark of Return', at #UnitedNations Headquarters in #NYC, is a permanent memorial to honour the victims of slavery and the slave trade.

Designed by Rodney Leon, an American architect of Haitian descent, the memorial aims to acknowledge the tragedy and legacy of slavery, as well as raise awareness of the current dangers of racism, prejudice and slavery’s lingering repercussions.⠀

As #BlackHistoryMonth gets underway, we pay homage to the victims of slavery and all who fought the injustice of the slave trade.
