🌿Meet Adam Zhang, the talented artist behind “Liberty Leading the Soul,” the DHM award-winning artwork in the 2023 Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Contest! In this captivating piece, Adam draws inspiration from Eugène Delacroix’s “Liberty Leading the People” to convey a powerful message about the shared responsibility of environmental protection for both humans and ocean animals.

“After many years of professional study in art, I have learned that artwork is my visual language to express ideas and emotions,” shares Adam. His artwork beautifully illustrates ocean animals behaving much like human beings, highlighting the urgent threats they face due to rising sea levels and catastrophic weather caused by human activities. Just like the characters in “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” these creatures are fighting for their freedom and living space.

🌏Adam’s reflection reminds us that environmental protection is a collective responsibility, and the Earth is not just ours but also theirs. With their resilience and kindness, ocean animals emerge as true climate heroes in Adam’s portrayal, deserving of our utmost respect and care.
