The summer heat is ramping up all weekend long & we have best tips for the best practices to keep your horses safe: .
☀️ #1: make sure horses have free access to clean, fresh water .
☀️ #2: make sure your horses have access to shade. The barn can be hot almost as it is outside if it’s not properly ventilated. A shaded tree in the field might be just as cool as anything! .
☀️ #3: If your horses are in the barn and you’re using fan, make sure they’re all in good condition - fans are a common source of barn fires .
☀️ #4: monitor your horses closely - if your horse looks stressed (elevated respiration rate, not grazing), hose them off with cool water and put them in a shaded area
