#Artemis I Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft arrive at Launch Pad 39B at NASAKennedy ahead of its Wednesday, Nov. 16, launch attempt. ⁣
⁣
Artemis I’s primary goal is to thoroughly test the integrated systems in preparation for crewed missions. Launching Orion on top of the SLS rocket, operating the spacecraft in a deep space environment and testing Orion’s heat shield, and recovering the crew module after reentry, descent and splashdown, are all crucial events that help inform us for future missions with NASAAstronauts. During this flight, Orion will launch atop the most powerful rocket in the world, and will fly farther than any human-related spacecraft has ever flown, paving the way for human deep space exploration – eventually extending human presence to the Moon and beyond. ⁣
