“SELAH” - REEL 2023

when I was developing my concept and direction for this, I kept being reminded of the world “selah” from the book of Psalms. Selah is a Hebrew word that does not have an exact translation to English, but there are common thoughts as to what it means, one simply being: to exalt.

going back to why I decided on “Selah” as the title, I thought back to my past year as a creative. 2023 was simply life changing for me. the opportunities I had at 18/19 years old were insane, for a lack of better words. 

it is nothing short of a true blessing for the opportunities, advancements in my skill, and my support i received in 2023. 

with that, all I can do is praise God, and thank Him for what was done. none of this is the work of me, but all the work of Him and the favor i have received based on the call of my life.

there is too many people to thank, so I am going to be brief.
- my parents, for being my #1 fan even when they didnt want to
- danewutke for pushing me every day in class as a creative and young man chasing God
- connor___mclain jacobwizgird editedbymaxwell for being some of my best friends, always pushing me to be better, and pushing the bar of what is great yourselves
- andrewcarter__ ben.walnick billyquachfilms ev_nmiller15 for giving me an opportunity at LIFM, which opened up a million more doors to come and continuing to cheer me on. thank you to all the other employees there who still push me to be better, give me advice, and want to see me succeed
- timreusche dhuntii kgwhite_media brandon_pratt3 for being amazing bosses (some formerly) and giving opportunities to create without boundaries and dealing with my crazy ideas 
- chrishybl reiwads emma_kay_jay for letting me work under yall during the summer and giving me my first taste of what the pro level is like, and for simply being great friends and leaders
- max_l4 for keep having me back at SKC and giving me the opportunity to shoot my first pro game and pro playoff
- all the countless other creatives I have met along who (directly or indirectly) push me to be better, and are all just genuinely friends to me

2023 was surreal and i thank God for it every day.
