The freshman football team ate. They ate right out of the crockpot. Their 28-0 victory over Crockett gave the players the confidence they have been looking for to begin their prospective win streak.

In the first three minutes of the game, Nemo Trejo scored the game’s first touchdown with Summit Flowers making the extra point.

“Scoring so early gives a lot of motivation for the team and a lot of momentum for the rest of the game,” Trejo said.

Not long after, Cooper Hensley scored the team’s second touchdown of the quarter, with Flowers once again kicking the ball through the uprights for the extra point.

“It feels great,” Hensley said. “I'm excited to see how the rest of the season plays out.”

By the end of the third quarter, Nash Wegner scored a touchdown with Hensley quickly scoring his second of the night.

The third quarter's two touchdowns and the field goals that followed gave the Knights their season high of 28 points.

“We knew we had it in us,” Wegner said, “We just needed that win against Conally and the touchdown at the beginning of the game to get us going.”

The freshman team hopes to recapture this momentum at their next game against LBJ. Kickoff at Noack field on the 29th at 6 p.m.
