The freshman football team defeated Navarro Vikings, 38-0, on Thursday night at the Noack Fields.

In the first quarter, the Knights started off strong with Jax Hicks scoring two touchdowns and Nash Wegner scoring on a 2-points conversion to give the Knights a 14-0 halftime lead.

“We scored pretty early on in the game,” Hicks said. “It got us started, and then we really just kept it going from there.”

In the third quarter, Cooper Hensley scored a touchdown

“We played well and forced a-lot of turnovers and ran the ball really well,” Hensley said of the team’s performance.

In the fourth quarter, Max Fullerton scored a touchdown with only seconds remaining in the game.

“It felt really good to win our last game of the season,” Nemo Trejo said. “We have learned a lot this season, and we are going to continue to get better for next season.”

For the remainder of the season, the freshmen will be playing up with the JV team. Alex Hopper said the end of the seasons brings with it great pride and a touch of sadness.

“We have really developed well throughout the season,” Hopper said. “It's sad that that was our last freshman game, but I’m looking forward to playing with JV and next season.”
