VICTORY OVER VIKINGS: On Thursday night, the JV football team took on the Navarro team in one of the last games of the regular season. The Knights got off to a rocky start in the first quarter, which ended scoreless. Shortly into the second quarter, Keshon Jasper scored a touchdown with Miles Chilton scoring a 2-point conversion, which gave the Knights an 8-0 lead. Three more touchdowns in the quarter later the Knights made the halftime score 32-0.

"Our mindset was to get everyone a touchdown that could and to share the love, also to just get us ready as a unit for varsity in the years to come," Chilton said.

Minutes into the third quarter, Ka-Ron Lewis scored another touchdown, with Jasper scoring on the 2-point conversion.

The rest of the third quarter and all of the fourth quarter dragged on without any points being scored, but the Knights ultimately made it out victorious by a final score of 40-0.

As the game ended and the players and coaches gathered around for the traditional post-game speech, the team felt a little different.

"For a lot of us, this would be our last JV game because of playoffs coming up," Chilton said.

Although the season is coming to a close, Chilton says that the team will try to keep its energy up for the final two games.

"We want to have a game as close to perfection as possible and to remain aggressive and confident."

The next JV game is scheduled for Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
