JV KNIGHTS 27, LIONS 25: The JV girls basketball team beat the Lockhart Lions in a close game between former district rivals on Tuesday morning.

Sophomore Trinity Ritcherson said the team did a good job at adapting to the Lions’ pressure and skill level.

“The game was very close, and we all had positive energy throughout the entire game, which I feel like really caused our win,” Ritcherson said. “Our ability to take a play and apply it to the situation at hand really came through for our team.”

The Knights led the game during the first half, but Lockhart slowly caught up throughout the third quarter. The Lions even built a small lead, but the Knights pulled through, continuing a two-point gap the rest of the game and eventually winning by that margin.

“We were able to adapt to the aggressiveness shown,” Ritcherson said. “We learned how being able to be consistent, having the determination to win, and to be better than last game really put us on top.”

The JV team will play at Cedar Creek High School this Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
