RAIDERS DISMOUNTED, KNIGHTS RIDE: On Friday night the JV boys basketball team defeated the Northeast Raiders to improve their district record to 6-1.

Throughout the first quarter, the Knights kept up the fervent energy that they have displayed in their previous games, scoring routinely and ending the quarter ahead 27-4.

The Knights maintained their scoring pace and defensive efficiency in the second quarter and went into the locker room feeling good about the 47-8 halftime score..

"Going into this game we knew that we were going to be the better team, so our main focus was  to execute and get ready for LBJ next week," sophomore Luke Dunham said.

The second half was more of the same and the Knights ultimately cruised to a decisive 74-17, extending their win streak to six games. The Knights have not lost since a Dec. 6 setback at home against LBJ. The Knights get a chance to avenge that loss on Tuesday.

"We started the season really rough, so consistently winning made us stronger because we know what it's like to lose," Dunham said. “The relationships we have on the court make the game more fun, since it feels like we're playing with our friends."

The Knights hope to keep up this fiery but friendly energy next week as they take on the Jaguars on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the LBJ big gym.
