FRESHMAN FOOTBALL FINDS ROOM TO GROW: The freshman football team lost to the Anderson Trojans in its first game of the season Wednesday night at House Park.

Minutes into the first quarter, the Trojans scored a touchdown. Throughout the game, the Trojans’ offense padded its lead.

"I had high expectations from the team, and I think we almost met those expectations,”  freshman V Overstreet said. “Personally, I'm proud of every player tonight.”

Despite the decisive loss, Overstreet said the freshman team had positive moments.

"We had great defensive possession near the start of the third,” Overstreet said. “I thought Tommy [McIntyre] really stepped up and hit hard. This game was a big rally moment for our defense, and we were all better after it.”

The freshman Knights will return to the field next Thursday to take on the Lehman Lobos at Lehman High School. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
