To shift her attention from the overwhelming thought of #breastcancer treatment in 2023, teaching artist Ginger Mimmo Rohlfing created nature-inspired paintings, depicting fallen leaves and petals she would find on neighborhood walks.

Rohlfing, now in remission, showcased these paintings at Penn Medicine’s art-themed Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day, connecting with other breast cancer patients and survivors to raise awareness for a procedure that helped her “feel like myself again.”
