COUGARS CRUMBLE: The JV boys basketball team played the Crockett Cougars on Jan. 2 at its home court winning 42-29. The Cougars quickly pulled ahead from the Knights in the first half, finishing the half with a score of 15-7.

Sophomore Alex Hopper felt the Knights tone changed during halftime as they realized they weren’t playing to their best of their ability.

¨Going into the locker room at half [time], the coach told us that we are better than this team and we are not playing to the level we should be, so at half we were told that we need to adjust and come out with energy and intensity and we did that.¨ Hopper said.

As the Knights regained momentum they started putting more points on the board, tying the game at 23-23 at the end of the 3rd. The JV Knights continued the momentum in the 4th quarter, allowing the Cougers to only score 6 points, finishing the game with a final score of 42-29.

¨We realized if we play to our level then we will dominate them.¨ Hopper said.

The JV team will take on the Northeast Raiders away this Friday at 8 p.m.
